Children’s Nebraska, with the University of Nebraska College of Medicine is currently recruiting a Developmental Behavioral Pediatrician. We are seeking a candidate board-certified in Pediatrics as well as board eligible/certified in Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics or board-eligible/certified in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities. Our ideal candidate will continue to develop our comprehensive academic/clinical program. Opportunities also exist to develop new or collaborative research initiatives. A UNMC faculty appointment will be commensurate with experience. Our Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics program serves both Children’s Nebraska and the Munroe-Meyer Institute (MMI). Our interdisciplinary team includes five Developmental Behavioral Pediatricians, a general pediatrician, four advanced practice providers, clinical nurse specialists, social work, a parent mentor, physical therapists, speech/language therapist, psychologists, and behavioral health providers.
Opportunities consist of interaction with committed faculty, a broad clinical experience, and research opportunities collaborating with various disciplines. Expertise in the division includes prenatal consultation through the Fetal Care Center, NICU consultations, infant and toddler development, autism, spina bifida, down syndrome, cardiac follow-up, and a wide range of other behavioral and neurodevelopmental disorders. The Division of Developmental Medicine has an established fellowship program that is committed to developing Developmental Pediatricians who will be leaders in the field recognized for patient care, teaching, and research.
Children’s Nebraska is the only full-service, pediatric healthcare center in Nebraska, providing expertise in more than 50 pediatric specialty services to children across a five-state region and beyond. As the region’s pediatric healthcare leader, we’re dedicated to exceptional care, advocacy, research, and education. We are home to Nebraska’s only Level IV regional Newborn Intensive Care Unit and the state’s only Level II Pediatric Trauma Center. The Child Health Research Institute was established in 2017 and aims to assist investigators with start-up funding and infrastructure for clinical, basic science, or translational research.
With a mission to improve the quality of life for persons with disabilities and their families, MMI has over 300 faculty and staff in numerous health and rehabilitation-related fields. Located on the University of Nebraska College of Medicine campus, MMI provides over 50,000 patient visits per year (70% community-based), conducts both basic and applied research, and has an academic teaching program. The Nebraska LEND and UCEDD programs are located at MMI.
