Shriners Children’s Shreveport is recruiting a Medical Director of Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery to join its current full-time staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership in education, research, management of physicians and practitioners, scheduling, and collaboration with community affiliates.
  • Schedule: 2 days of clinic and 2 days of OR/week, with 0.2 FTE of administrative duties.
  • Gait Lab responsibilities, including Medical Director of the Gait Lab.
  • Educate medical students, residents, and fellows through lectures, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Engage in research activities, contribute to advancements in pediatric orthopedics, and publish findings in reputable journals.
  • Participate in regional outreach programs, community initiatives, and represent the facility at professional conferences and events.
  • Attend monthly Board of Governor meetings and maintain with Shriners Fraternity

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
  • Must hold a current board certification from the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery
  • Successful completion of a fellowship in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery
  • At least eight years post fellowship experience required.
  • Must possess or be eligible for Louisiana medical license
  • DEA license
  • Neuromuscular background preferred, but not required.
  • Active participation in professional associations, such as POSNA
