AACPDM Thanks Past President Dr. Wade Shrader

Milwaukee, WI., December 9, 2024 - The American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine (AACPDM) expresses gratitude to M. Wade Shrader, MD, for his service to the Academy as President.
M. Wade Shrader, MD, states, “It has been an honor to serve as the President of the AACPDM over the past year. I want to express my sincere gratitude to all the volunteers I have had the pleasure of working with. Their dedication to the Academy, along with their extensive knowledge and expertise, continues to inspire me.” Dr. Shrader continues, “The Academy will always hold a special place in my heart.”
Dr. Wade Shrader is Division Chief and The Freeman Miller Endowed Chair of Cerebral Palsy at Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware, where he focuses his practice on the treatment of children with cerebral palsy and similar developmental disabilities. He is also the Medical Director for Nemours’ Gait & Motion Analysis Laboratory and a Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Pediatrics at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University. His current research efforts have been investigating pain control, hip conditions, gait disorders, and family dynamics of children with special health care needs.
Laurie Glader, MD, AACPDM President (2024-25) states, “Wade's steadfast leadership has played a crucial role in advancing the Academy's initiatives. I wish to express my sincere gratitude for his mentorship, dedication, and warm welcome. He has established a significant benchmark for us to strive towards.”
Dr. Shrader is an active member of the AACPDM, serving several Committees including the Advocacy Committee, Lifespan Committee (Chair), Scientific Program Committees (Co-Chair), Nominating Committee, and the International Affairs Committee. He has also served on the AACPDM Board of Directors.
